Legislature Honors "Apraxia Awareness Day" in Niagara County

Today, May 14, is recognized as Apraxia Awareness Day across  the country. Apraxia is a speech sound disorder where someone has trouble saying what he or she wants to say correctly and consistently. Those with Apraxia have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say. However, they have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex movements that underlie speech.
