Aging

The Niagara County Office for the Aging brings together the programs, services and supportive facilities which help our 47,000 older adults maintain independence whenever possible.

Established in 1973, the OFA coordinates community services as well as plans, develops and administers needed programs and promotes new and better services for all persons age 60 and over.

NY Connects Niagara County, established in 2008, offers information and assistance regarding Long Term Care Services. NY Connects services people age 60 and over and the disabled of any age. For more information visit their website at NY Connects Niagara County.

Our office is located right in the heart of beautiful historic downtown Lockport, New York and we are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

The Office for the Aging is funded by the New York State Office for the Aging with Older American Act and New York State funds, and by Niagara County.

New York State Office for the Aging and the Association on Aging in New York have collaborated to provide the opportunity for active older adults (age 50 and up) to participate in an online learning platform for FREE.  They have purchased 50,000 learning units that will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  If you are interested in accessing this amazing platform of skills and knowledge at no cost to you, register at:  https://www.getsetup.io/partner/nystate and use the coupon code of NYSTATE to waive your fee for paid classes.
