Applications
- Applications must be completed in BLACK ink only.
- List any and all arrests on the application; even those that have been sealed or dismissed. Failure to list ALL arrests could result in denial of your application.
- You must be 21 years of age and be a resident of Niagara County.
- If approved, you are not required to purchase/own a firearm.
- You may obtain a Pistol Permit packet by clicking the link above, visiting our office in person or requesting one be sent via email.
- Completed applications must be submitted in person at the Pistol Permit Office. All our staff in the Pistol Permit office are notaries and can notarize your signature if necessary. Do NOT sign until you are in front of a notary.
- A $10.00 application fee must be paid at time of submission of your application. Check, cash, money order or credit card are accepted - MasterCard, Visa or Discover only.
- Photos may be taken at this time as well, if necessary. Cost for photos is $5.00 per photo. Two (2) photos are required for town residents, three (3) photos for city residents
- Background checks will be completed by the NYS Police and FBI.
- Applicants will be interviewed by their local law enforcement agency.
- After all necessary internal steps have been completed, if application is approved, applicant will receive notification to appear in person to complete the process and receive their pistol permit.
