Niagara County Clerk Jastrzemski, Chairman Wydysh to Host "Wags, Whiskers & Wine" Event with WNY Food 4 Paws

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski and Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh are teaming up to host a fundraiser called “Wags, Whiskers & Wine” to support the work of WNY Food 4 Paws, a non-profit that provides pet food and supplies to local pantries to help families experiencing financial hardship be able provide for their pets.  WNY Food 4 Paws currently supports 7 food pantries in Niagara County and the interest is growing. The event will be held June 8 at Freedom Run Winery.

“During these tough times, we all know that food pantries have been overwhelmed by families looking for assistance, but what often goes unmentioned is that many need help providing for the family pet as well,” said Wydysh.  “WNY Food 4 Paws is there to help, hopefully enabling struggling families to avoid the painful choice of surrendering their beloved dog or cat.”

The event is Thursday, June 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Freedom Run Winery, 5138 Lower Mountain Road, Lockport, NY 14094.  Tickets are $50 pre-sale and $60 at the door and include drinks and light refreshments.  Tickets can be purchased by emailing matthew.parish@niagaracounty.com or calling 716-439-7026.

“We are asking attendees to please consider bringing an additional donation of pet food or pet supplies to the event,” said Clerk Jastrzemski.  “We also have a bin at the clerk’s office in the Niagara County Courthouse for anyone who would like to donate.   Let’s help keep families and their pets together.”

Added Wydysh, “Freedom Run Winery is pet friendly, so grab your favorite fury friend and come join us for what will be a fun evening at a spectacular venue for a very worthwhile cause.”
