Niagara County Encourages Residents to "Rethink Your Waste" by Taking Advantage of Upcoming Disposal Events

Earth Day

This past Saturday was Earth Day which is a good time to remind Niagara County residents about our Household Hazardous waste program and other events planned for the year.  Through the Niagara County Division of Environmental/Solid Waste, the county offers several opportunities to rid yourself of household waste.

All events can be found at www.rethinkyourwaste.com/events.  Registration opens a month before each event.

In addition, the county is once again sponsoring a year-long voucher program that allows county residents to dispose of 50 pounds of household hazardous waste, at no charge, by self-hauling the materials to a facility in Tonawanda.  To apply for your voucher, again go to www.rethinkyourwaste.com/events and follow the instructions for the voucher program.  Those vouchers are available now through December 31.
