Niagara County DPW Announces Reopening of Wilson Burt Rd

Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Garret Meal today announced that a section of Wilson Burt Rd in the Town of Newfane will fully reopen to traffic by the end of the day on Friday, November 18.  The road has been closed since August.

Wilson Burt Rd had been closed between Coomer and McClew roads for a bridge replacement over Hopkins Creek.  The project, which had a project construction cost of $822,000, was completed on time and under budget.

“With the completion of this project, our 2022 road and bridge construction season comes to a successful conclusion and I want to thank our DPW team and all of our contractors who were able to complete many significant projects,” said Niagara County Legislator Will Collins, Chairman of the county’s Infrastructure Committee.  “Given the upcoming weather forecast, we will now shift our focus to keeping our roads safe and clear for motorists through winter.”
