Public Comments Welcome on Draft Plan for Opioid Settlement Funds

Niagara County Director of Mental Health and Substance Abuses Services (NCDMH) Laura Kelemen made a public presentation earlier this week on a draft plan on how best to use the funds that came from the county’s portion of lawsuit settlements with pharmaceutical companies.  The draft plan was devised after NCDMH hosted two roundtable meetings last month with more than 60 stakeholders taking part.

These settlement funds are specifically intended to support individuals, and their families, in the wake of the opioid epidemic, in alignment with the design and intent of the New York State (NYS) Office of the Attorney General’s (OAG) list of approved uses.

The presentation can be viewed here.

Public comments are still welcome and can be sent to NCDMH@niagaracounty.com.
