February 17 COVID-19 Update

The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County: 

We regretfully report one new death of a Niagara County resident from COVID-19.  We send our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of this individual. 

The rest of the update is as follows: 

  • 49 new positive cases 
  • Total of 14,581 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths) 
  • 536 active cases (520 isolating at home, 16 in hospital) 
  • 13,772 recovered 
  • 273 deaths  
  • 312,608 tests of Niagara County residents (https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/)  
  • 18,681 first dose vaccinations given, representing 8.8 percent of county population 
  • 7231 second dose vaccinations given (Note: vaccine numbers provided by NYS.)
