EMS

Niagara County is home to 12 volunteer basic life support non-transporting fire agencies, 2 career basic life support non-transporting fire agencies, 16 volunteer advanced life support transporting fire agencies, 2 volunteer advanced life support transporting EMS agencies and 2 career advanced life support non-transporting fire agencies. Just three of those emergency medical services (EMS) are paid agencies with full time staffed stations. The remaining are staffed with volunteer EMS providers, those volunteers respond to a majority of the calls in the county. The paid agencies are Mercy EMS, Twin City EMS and AMR. All emergency medical service agencies are overseen by Niagara County EMS Coordinator Chad Shepherd.
