Resource Guides

"Where do I start?"

It is a very common question people have when caring for a loved one, or when an individual is looking for services to help them maintain their independence in the home. In Niagara County, there are a variety of different services to help seniors and caregivers as they try to navigate the system. In order to make things simple for those who are unfamiliar with what's available in our community the Long-Term Care Advisory Council has created a guide that can ease the stress of finding agencies that can provide assistance.

"What are Long-Term Services?"

Long-Term Services can be anything from in-home help to care provided through a facility. Everyone's level of care varies and our office can be there as a support to guide you through what is out there and what steps to take to ensure the process is made easier for families.

"What are the next steps when my loved one can no longer live at home?"

At the Niagara County Office for the Aging, our team wants to make sure that our families have every resource available to them to make the decision that is right for their needs. Our team understands that in some cases keeping your loved one at home is no longer an option. Fortunately, there are a variety of different facilities in Niagara and the surrounding counties that can help families provide the care their loved one needs. To get an idea of all the places in the areas please refer to the Community Resource Guide above or call our NY Connects line at 716-438-3030.
