Niagara County’s WorkSource One today announced that its “Succeed in Six” program will kickoff next week, January 24th.  Those interested in participating can still sign up.

The “Succeed in Six” program is designed to provide training for job seekers on the soft skills that employers are looking for when making their hiring decisions.

“We have heard from many local employers on what they perceive as some areas that are lacking in many of those they interview,” said Don Jablonksi, head of the Niagara County Employment and Training.  “This program is designed to specifically address those areas.”

The six one-hour sessions take place on January 24, 27, 29, 31 and February 3 and 5 from 11 a.m. to noon.  All sessions take place at the Trott Access Cener.  Topics to be covered include:

  • Effective Communication
  • Conflict/Resolution Strategies
  • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
  • Work Ethic & Dependability
  • Adaptability/Resiliency/Intrapersonal Skills
  • Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills

Jablonski added that all of those who complete the program are guaranteed job interviews with various local companies who are supporting this initiative.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Kerrie at 278-8281 or email at kerrie.heffernan@niagaracounty.com.  For more information, see the attached flyer.
