Niagara County Participates in National Crime Victim’s Rights Week

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services is participating in National Crime Victim’s Rights Week with displays in the Rotunda of the Niagara County Courthouse and the first floor of the Niagara Falls Municipal Building.  Stacy Suess, Niagara County Victim Services Coordinator, said the VAU, in conjunction with Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, Pinnacle Community Services, and YWCA of Niagara Frontier will be providing information about their programs and the community resources available to crime victims.

Niagara County Looking to Move Law Enforcement Academy to NCCC

Niagara County Legislator Dave Godfrey and Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti today announced that plans are underway to relocate the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy (NCLEA) to the campus of Niagara County Community College (NCCC).  The NCLEA is currently located at Niagara University.

Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and Office for the Aging to Issue Senior ID Cards

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office and the Office for the Aging have partnered to offer free Senior ID Cards to any Niagara County resident 60 years of age and older.  These cards will display a picture and identifying information similar to a driver’s license on the front, and will list two emergency contacts and pertinent medical information on the back.

Niagara County Announces Next Community Engagement Meetings on Sheriff’s Office

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh and Acting Sheriff Michael Filicetti today announced the next meeting of the county task force charged with complying with Governor Cuomo’s mandate that local governments undertake a police reform and reinvention collaborative initiative.  The meeting will be held in Niagara Falls and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend to express their opinions.
