Niagara County Says Residents Should Consider Passports to Fly

Deadline for REAL ID is October 1

Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski and Niagara County Legislature Chairman Rebecca Wydysh today said Niagara County residents should strongly consider getting passports rather than rely on New York State driver’s licenses to meet the TSA requirements for REAL ID for all domestic flights that takes effect on October 1, 2020.

Lake Ontario Water Levels Already Higher Than at Same Point Last Year

Niagara County Emergency Services Director Jonathan Schultz told the Lake Ontario Planning Committee that current Lake Ontario water levels are already higher than at a similar period a year ago.  Schultz said the current water level is 246.59’, about nine inches above where they were on this date one year ago.

Niagara County Encourages Purple Heart Veterans to Come Forward

County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski said Niagara County will once again honor Purple Heart Veterans by adding their name to county’s Book of Honor at a ceremony to be held this August.  Jastrzemski was joined by Timothy Beach, a US Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran and the recipient of two Purple Heart awards, in announcing the county’s continuing effort to recognize all of its citizens wounded in battle.

Niagara County WorkSourceOne Announces “Succeed in Six Program”

Niagara County’s WorkSource One today announced that its “Succeed in Six” program will kickoff next week, January 24th.  Those interested in participating can still sign up. The “Succeed in Six” program is designed to provide training for job seekers on the soft skills that employers are looking for when making their hiring decisions.
