Niagara County to Hold Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Lewiston

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh and Legislator Irene Myers today said they are co-sponsoring a household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, August 21st in Lewiston in conjunction with the Town of Lewiston, Senator Ortt, Assemblyman Morinello and the Niagara County Department of Public Works.

Niagara County Announces Youth Employment Grant

Funds are part of Gun Violence Prevention Program

The Niagara County Workforce Development Board (NCWDB) today announced they have been awarded a $250,000 grant through the Governor Cuomo’s Gun Violence Prevention Initiative to focus on providing permanent jobs to Niagara Falls youth ages 18-24.  Niagara Falls is one of 20 cities receiving these funds in partnership with the state Department of Labor.

Residents Encouraged to Fill out Flood Damage Reports from July 20 Storm

Niagara County Emergency Service Director Jonathan Schultz today announced the release of a new smartphone application called Prepare Niagara.   This app will serve as a new way for the agency to connect with Niagara County residents and visitors, providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone.

Niagara County Office for the Aging Distributing Farmers Market Coupons

The Niagara County Office for the Aging has begun distributing Farmers’ Market Coupon Booklets at sites throughout Niagara County.  The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, provided by the NYS Dept of Agriculture and Markets, provides coupons to all who meet age and income requirements.
