Niagara County Gives Greenlight to Moderate and Higher Risk Sports

Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel J. Stapleton today said moderate and higher risk sports in Niagara County may proceed in accordance with New York State guidelines.  Last Friday, Governor Cuomo announced that the decision on whether these sports could start back up would be made by each county’s health director.

Niagara County Clerk Reminds Pistol Permit Holders to Re-Certify

Niagara County Joseph A. Jastrzemski today reminded pistol permit holders that under the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of Jan.15, 2013, pistol permit holders must re-certify every five years with the New York State Police Office.  That means those who received their permits in 2016 must recertify by the date of issuance on their permit.

Niagara County Approves Funding for Vaccination Hires

The Niagara County Legislature unanimously approved a resolution last night to allocate $101,458 from its contingency fund to create and fill part-time positions that will help administer the COVID-19 vaccine to the public when the vaccine doses become available.

Niagara County Director of Emergency Services Recognized

Niagara County Clerk Says Driver’s License Expiration Extended Again

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today said Governor Cuomo has issued Executive Order 202.79 which extends the expiration dates on licenses and permits that expired after March 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021.  In addition, the Executive Order also continues to require that all in-person transactions at DMVs be done by appointment only.

Niagara County Legislature supports PB&J Drive

Pete Robinson, founder of the Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive, spoke to the Niagara County Legislature on Tuesday on how this year’s drive is more important than ever, with so many family struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Legislature donated two carts full of jars of peanut butter and jelly.

Niagara County Announces Reopening of Upper Mountain Road in Lewiston

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh today announced the replacement of the Upper Mountain Road culvert over Fish Creek in the Town of Lewiston is complete and the road will reopen to traffic by the end of the day, Wednesday, December 2.  The culvert, located northeast of Moyer Road has been closed since September.
