Niagara County Youth Bureau Accepting Applications for the Summer Food Service Program

The Niagara County Youth Bureau will return as a sponsor for the 2022 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program ensures that children who are economically disadvantaged continue to receive nutritious meals during summer vacation. Meals are comparable to the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs (NSBP and NSLP, respectively) throughout the school year.

Niagara County Raises Flag for Donate Life Month

 

Niagara County Legislature Chairman Rebecca Wydysh and Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski were joined by Sarah Diina of ConnectLife to raise the ConnectLife flag outside the Niagara County Courthouse to celebrate April as National Donate Life Month.

Niagara County is Deemed “Storm Ready” by National Weather Service

Niagara County has been deemed “StormReady” by the National Weather Service (NWS), according to Jonathan Schultz, Niagara County’s Emergency Services Director.  NWS officials came to the county’s Public Safety building on Tuesday to present the “Storm Ready” designation.

Niagara County Announces Façade Grant Program for Businesses

Applications Now Available, Information Session on April 5

The Niagara County Center for Economic Development today announced the launch of the new Niagara County Façade Program (NCFP).  The NCFP will provide matching grants up to $50,000 for eligible businesses to rejuvenate their properties to help bring vibrancy to the central business districts in communities across the county.

Niagara County Now Accepting Applications for Seasonal Help

The Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced they are now accepting applications for seasonal help for the 2022 season.   Positions are currently open at the five county parks, the Niagara County Golf Course, and the highway department.  Seasonally employees earn $14.20 per hour.

Niagara County to Host Agribusiness Outreach Forum

 The Niagara County Center for Economic Development today announced it will host its 3rd annual Agribusiness Outreach Forum on Friday, April 8th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  A hybrid format has been put in place to allow for either in-person or virtual attendance.

Niagara County Has Test Kits for Not-for-Profits, Businesses

Niagara County Legislator Rick Abbott today announced that Niagara County has tens of thousands of tests kits from New York State that it is making available to not-for-profits and businesses.  The tests are available through the Niagara County Department of Emergency Services.

Statement from Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh Regarding Mask Mandate in Schools

“Today, Governor Hochul announced the state mandate requiring masks in schools will be lifted this Wednesday, March 2.  It will then be left to individual counties to decide whether to continue such a mandate.  We have previously said that Niagara County would not continue that mandate if the decision were left to us.
