The Niagara County Department of Public Works is conducting an on-line survey related to the county’s rural transportation program in an effort to evaluate riders’ needs, potentially develop new routes and look for ways to increase usage.  

The Niagara County Center for Economic Development (NCCED) today announced grant awards to business associations across Niagara County through the William G. Mayne, Jr. Business/Community Enhancement Fund.  

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office and the Office for the Aging have partnered to offer free Senior ID Cards to any Niagara County resident 60 years of age and older.  These cards will display a picture and identifying information similar to a driver’s license on the front, and will list two emergency contacts and pertinent medical information on the back.  

Niagara County Employment & Training Director Donald J. Jablonski today announced the completion of the installation of a state-of-the-art wheelchair lift at the One-Stop Center located in the Trott Access Center in Niagara Falls.

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today provided an update on a couple of Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) issues as the state and federal governments continue to reevaluate COVID-19 pandemic guidelines.

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today announced that the Veterans Service Agency will begin in-person office hours at the Trott Access Center in Niagara Falls beginning next week.  The office has been closed during the pandemic and all appointments since then have been conducted in the Lockport office.

The Niagara County Youth Bureau is seeking a new representative for the New York State Governor’s Youth Council. The Youth Council is to be made up of 62 young people ages 13-21, one representing each county to be selected via attached process. In 2020, the Council was represented by Jaydon Lang of Lockport, NY.

Reacting to an overwhelming number of people who showed up for the Niagara County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) first walk-in hours since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski today said that future walk-in hours would be limited to Niagara County residents only, with a limit of two transactions per visit as well.

Niagara County Legislator Tony Nemi and Pendleton Supervisor Joel Maerten today said that the Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) will undertake a traffic safety review of Bear Ridge Road in Pendleton where a merging lane from Tonawanda Creek has been the site of several accidents.  Bear Ridge is a county-owned road.
