Legislator Robins Calls for Better Access between NU & Niagara Gorge

A resolution by Niagara County Legislator Christopher Robins calling on New York State to consider a redesign for Route 104 in front of Niagara University to allow better pedestrian access to the Shoreline Trail and Niagara Gorge was unanimously passed last night by the Niagara County Legislature.

Niagara County Public Defender’s Office Relocates

Niagara County Chief Public Defender Nicholas B. Robinson today announced that the relocation of the county’s public defender’s office is now complete.  The new office location is 170 East Avenue in Lockport.  The office moved from 139 Niagara Street in the county Civil Defense building.

Legislator Gooch Asks Governor Hochul to Intervene on Shawnee Rd. Speed Limit

Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch today sent a letter to Governor Hochul asking her to intervene in efforts to lower the speed limit on Shawnee Road in the Town of Wheatfield.  Residents have been seeking a speed limit reduction for years, but the state Department of Transportation has refused the request.

Niagara County to Hold Outdoor Career Fair at Oppenheim Park

The Niagara County Department of Employment and Training will be holding an outdoor career fair on Wednesday, September 22 at Oppenheim Park in Wheatfield for those seeking employment.  More than 50 companies with open positions have signed up to take part.

NIAGARA COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING ADDS ANOTHER WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE VAN TO FLEET

The Niagara County Office for the Aging announced today that it had recently taken delivery of a brand new bariatric accessible wheelchair van, expanding the Office’s transportation fleet to 13 vehicles.
