Honoring Our Purple Heart Heroes...
Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski launched the Purple
Heart Recognition initiative for Niagara County Veterans who
are or were recipients of the Purple Heart - the oldest

In addition to Niagara County receiving the distinction as an

commemorating recipients brave service and sacrifice is
unveiled annually in a formal ceremony held on National Purple
Heart Day, August 7th.
The historic rotunda of the Niagara County Courthouse is home
to the permanent Frank J. Gaffney Purple Heart Book of Honor.
The display is open to the public.
