Shelter rentals can be made by calling the Parks Division of the Niagara County Department of Public Works at (716) 439-7950, after March 1. Reservation rates are $35.00 for small shelters, $50.00 for large shelters and $75.00 for the Lion’s Shelter.
The park is open during the summer months form Memorial Day weekend through September. There are four larger shelters, several smaller shelters, a band shelter, and the newly built Lion’s shelter available for daily rental. The park also offers five softball diamonds, soccer fields with shelters, a splash park, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, two playgrounds with new updated equipment and safety surfacing, tennis courts and a model airplane field. There are five restrooms located throughout the park.
The park is home to many events throughout the year including the Pirates Festival, Celtic Festival, the Labor Day Weekend Car show, dog shows and many other smaller events. Independence Day celebrations are held annually. The Town of Newfane Tourism Department sponsors a series of Sunday afternoon concerts in the park, which are always a great success. Hundreds of children can be seen on the soccer fields on summer evenings as part of the Newfane Soccer Club.
During the winter months the park offers two large skating rinks that are well maintained. There is a small warming house with picnic tables, restrooms and vending machines. Visitors are permitted to bring picnic style lunches. No equipment is provided for any on site activities. Skating rink conditions are recorded daily and can be accessed by calling (716) 778-7711. The park road is kept free of snow in the winter to allow residents to take a leisurely stroll or walk pets. Each year the Newfane Lions Club sponsors the Swim for Sight Polar Bear Plunge. Several hundred or more people turn out in even the coldest of weather to support their friends and family in this charitable event.

The Olcott Lions Club, the Krull Park Development Committee, and the Town of Newfane Tourism Department are very much responsible for the beautification and growth of Krull Park through donations and volunteer work.

WARNING
Please be aware that in the summer of 2004, Giant Hogweed, a very dangerous
plant, was found growing in various areas of the County including Royalton
Ravine County Park. All sites located at that time have been destroyed,
but should you come across something you suspect may be Giant Hogweed, do
not touch the plant. Contact the Parks Department immediately at (716)
439-7950. Giant Hogweed is a public health hazard. It results
in severe skin irritation and painful burning blisters that could turn into
purplish or brown pigmentation and scarring. It resembles a very large
Queen Anne’s Lace plant. Its stems are 9-14 feet high and 2-4
inches in diameter. They are hollow and ridged with purple blotches
and coarse hairs. Flowering occurs from mid-June to mid-July and flower
clusters may reach 2 ½ feet across. Again, do not touch the
plant and contact the Niagara County Parks Department at (716) 439-7950.
