Niagara County Offers Free Evidence Based Health Workshops

The Niagara County Department of Health Nursing Division, in collaboration with the Niagara County Office for the Aging, is offering free workshops throughout Niagara County for individuals with any ongoing health condition; for example, arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, pain and high blood pressure.  

Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (once a week for six weeks)

This 6-week workshop helps participants learn or enhance their skills and ability to manage their health and maintain an active lifestyle. Caregivers are also welcome.  Workshops are scheduled to begin on:

  • Wednesday, June 20th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm – DeGraff Hospital Community Center, 139 Division Street, North Tonawanda.  

Diabetes Self-Management Program (once a week for six weeks)

This 6-week workshop helps participants learn or improve problem-solving and decision-making skills, enabling them to confront the challenges of living with diabetes.  Caregivers are also welcome.  Workshops are scheduled to begin on:

·       Friday, June 1st from 9:00am to 11:30am – Elks Lodge, 6791 North Canal Road, Lockport

  •  Wednesday, June 6th from 9:00am to 11:30am – John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd.,    Niagara Falls.
