1) AMERICA'S PREPARATHON APRIL 30, 2014Preparathon.pdf

America's PrepareAthon (AP!)<> is a nationwide, community-based campaign for action to increase emergency preparedness and resilience. Each spring and fall, America's PrepareAthon! will provide a national focus for individuals, organizations and communities to participate through drills, group discussions and exercises to prepare for local hazards.

On April 30, Americans are asked to implement one simple preparedness action to mitigate their risk and reduce their vulnerability to one of the following hazards: tornado, hurricane, flood, and wildfire.
2)  Niagara County and all incorporated jurisdictions within its boundaries are participating in a local hazard mitigation plan update.  The plan is part of a federal requirement to identify hazards within the county and to explore means to reduce the risks and vulnerabilities to those hazards.  As part of the planning process, we invite all residents to participate in the planning process by taking on online survey.  The survey should not take more than 10 minutes to complete and the information we collect will help paint a better picture of the resiliency of Niagara County.

Please follow the link provided below and take a few moments to participate in the county’s hazard mitigation plan.  You will have other opportunities to provide input and comments on the plan as we move forward toward completion.  If you would like to participate in other aspects of the planning process, please provide your personal information in the last question of the survey.  If you wish to remain anonymous, you may skip the last question.

The link is live and will be available until April 30, 2014
