Lockport—Niagara County Legislature Chairman Wm. Keith McNall is set to address the leadership of the county’s government tonight, laying out a vision for 2017 and beyond in his second State of the County address at the Niagara County Courthouse.

The speech covers a number of key items, including specific directives to departments aimed at reducing government costs, new initiatives targeting the opioid crisis, a plan for infrastructure upgrades, and urges the Legislature to pass a proposed employee contract with the Teamsters. The speech also responds directly to portions of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s State of the State address.

As with McNall’s 2016 governing blueprint speech, the 2017 speech is heavy on specifics, and notes several achievements of the county government during his first year as chairman—which also saw the installation of a new county manager.
