LOCKPORT― On March 19th, Chairman of Niagara County Legislature Wm. Keith McNall honored two individuals for their heroic and benevolent acts that occurred in February.

On February 26th, Maureen James, a senior at Lockport High School and Zoe Dobo, a freshman at the University at Buffalo were driving together in Lockport as they saw a man laying injured outside of his residence.  Their heroic response that followed is what led to their honorary recognition from Niagara County Legislature.

After the two girls noticed the injured man lying on the cold and icy ground, they pulled over, rushed out of their car and assisted him in any way they could by propping him up and immediately calling first responders.  Though they didn’t need to, Dobo and James still stayed by the side of the injured man and his wife until emergency responders arrived.

At the legislative meeting that took place on March 19th, Chairman McNall officially presented the girls with a certificate of honorary recognition on behalf of the legislature and the citizens of Niagara County for what they had so heroically done for a fellow citizen.
