Niagara County has recently started the process of conducting a new Community Health Assessment (CHA) to understand the strengths and needs of our communities with regards to health and wellness.  Along with all other counties in New York State, Niagara County is on a quest to understand how to best serve its citizens and improve healthcare.

Over the next few months, the Niagara County Department of Health will be working closely with local hospitals and community partners to identify key priorities areas and create plans to help improve your health, but we need YOUR help.  We want to hear your thoughts and opinions.  We want to know what really matters to each person whose life we can impact. “Public Health Week is this week and I can’t think of a better way to acknowledge this designation than gathering the input of the communities we serve” said Daniel J. Stapleton, Public Health Director for Niagara County. “Working together with our county hospitals is a great way of targeting our resources towards health issues that need improvement”, he said.

Please consider taking 10-15 minutes of your time to fill out our completely confidential 2013 Niagara County Community Health Assessment Survey.  It can be found directly online at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/NiagaraCountyHealth.  The web-link is additionally available on our county’s Department of Health website at: www.niagaracounty.com/health .    You can share your voice and help make a real difference in the lives of people you care about in Niagara County.  For more information on county community health assessments and New York State’s new Prevention Agenda, please visit: www.health.ny.gov/prevention/prevention_agenda/ .
