NURSING DIVISION - Homecare and Preventive Services
Niagara County Health Department has been providing professional nursing services to Niagara County residents since 1965. The objectives of the nursing division are to promote an optimal level of health and wellness for the residents of Niagara County and to provide comprehensive services for the prevention of disease.
The nursing staff provides a continuation of home health and preventive services following hospitalization and nursing home discharge. Additionally, referrals are accepted upon direct contact from physicians’ offices for those individuals who have not been hospitalized. Home care representatives are available to take referrals from physicians, hospitals, Niagara County residents and community agencies for the following home care programs:
- Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA)
- Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP)
The public health nursing staff continually strives to achieve and maintain
a high level of wellness within Niagara County by providing the following
preventive services:
- Immunization Clinics
- Adult Immunization and Family Travel Clinics
- Tuberculosis Clinics
- Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinics
- Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
- Communicable Disease Surveillance
- Medication Administration Training
