Advisory Council
The Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council is a voluntary group of citizens who provide information, guidance, advice and support to area agencies on aging (AAAs) to develop, coordinate and administer services to older persons.
The Advisory Council, which is mandated by the Older Americans Act, helps the AAA develop and administer the Area Plan, conduct public hearings, represent the interests of older persons and review and comment on community policies, programs and actions, which affect older persons. The Advisory Council is a key link between the community and the AAA in communicating the needs and concerns of senior residents.
